Changxindian-Tuoli Japanese Military Railway

This railway branch line, with a total length of approximately 30 kilometers, originates in Changxindian, Fengtai District, runs southwest via Zhujiafen and Huaishuling, then heads west across Taipingling to Houjiayu in Fangshan District, ultimately connecting to the south side of Tuoli Railway Station. As a strategic facility constructed by the Japanese military during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, it not only linked multiple Japanese military barracks in Zhujiafen and Huaishuling, but also sought to strengthen the military blockade against the Pingxi Anti-Japanese Base Area and plunder the coal resources of western Beijing's mountainous region.

Due to a lack of official written records, this "short-lived" railway was lost in the dust of history after the war. It was not until railway cultural researchers utilized 1945 aerial photographs and on-site field investigations that its route was re-outlined, leading to the discovery of precious heritage remnants such as concrete abutments, bearing platforms, and rare switchbacks (zig-zag tracks) around Houjiayu and Xinzhuang villages. These surviving historical landmarks provide vital physical and photographic evidence for the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
